The Deuter Futura 26 has undergone a bit of a transformation for 2018 The new model is clearly a well thought through rucksack with excellent access to the main compartment The Futura 26 has always been one of the best day packs around and the new version certainly hasn t scrimped on features All contact points including shoulder harness and hip belt are now constructed from a soft yet supportive perforated foam which feels very nice when carrying the bag The iconic Aircomfort back system is still present and provides the ideal balance of ventilation ergonomic comfort and low weight When partnered with the flexible steel frame you have a back system which distributes the load weight very well resulting in a bag perfectly designed for day hikers Wet weather will not be a concern thanks to the integrated and removable rain cover stowed in its own pocket at the base of the bag In addition walking pole loops and a hydration reservoir sleeve mean this is a bag which is ideally suited to any environment whether your headed to the mountains long day hikes in the sun or a weekend walk in the UK The Futura range has also undergone a bit of a visual update and certainly looks the part Reflective decals and a sleeker design ensure this bag looks great out in the hills
