In woodwork, everyday is a school day!Oak framing is a massive topic and can be quite daunting if you don\'t know how to get started. Everyone, with some knowledge will have an opinion about THE way to do it. Well guess what, there isn\'t just one way to do it. Woodwork just keeps giving with new things to learn.Here I will help break down the big things into smaller bite sized nuggets so you can tackle each of the learning challenges in a methodical way.In this course I will discuss, timber choice, joint design, hand and power tools. As well as show you how to mark out, cut and fit the oak sections together. In particular I will take you through the process of marking out using a plumb bob.I have chosen to build the course around making an oak roof truss. The skills learnt here are transferable to many other oak frame designs.Enjoy the course and have fun with oak framing!
