Ki No Bi Sei, based on a traditional navy strength version and bottled at 54.5%, isnt simply Ki No Bi at a higher strength. The production method is the same as Ki No Bi: 11 botanicals are grouped by flavour into what we call the 6 Elements which are macerated and distilled separately, before being blended together with Fushimi water. However, the ratios are different in order to achieve the right balance; that higher concentration gives SEI its power from which the name derives. Strong and powerful at 54.5%, Sei can be used for a range of cocktails, being especially recommended in a Gin & Tonic for which it was awarded an IWSC Outstanding Gold Medal in 2018.
