A collection of short stories for children, with illustrations. Possibly one of a series of Merry Hours books published by John F. Shaw & Co; front cover shows a boy and a girl with a dog, back cover shows a girl on a bicycle with a boy and a dog running beside. Undated, but research suggests perhaps 1935? Likewise no authors or illustrators named, but other copies suggest associated names are Mabel Mackintosh and Louis Wain. Condition: Boards very shelfworn, rubbed to card around edges, head of spine pulling away, rubbing and marking. Dedication to previous owner on pastedown, dated 1985; name of previous owner on FEP. Interior hinge splitting, tanning and some marks throughout, but all text clearly readable and binding intact.
