An Historical Sketch of the Beginnings of Christian Science in Lancashire and the North of England, and the Early Days of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Manchester by Tatham Woodhead 1934, has been inspected under strong light and has been graded Fair using AbeBooks grading guide. The main damage to the book is in the pages, the front of the end paper is missing (torn off) and the binding is coming loose, even exposed in some parts of the book, the pages are also showing signs of foxing however the text is still legible. The front cover is fading in the corners and is sufficiently worn in places, as well as some scuffs in the centre which are noticeably in white and there are a few dents to the edges from general usage. The spine and its edges show binding wear and is slightly misshapened (bent in places) and is showing wear through fading and thinning of the material especially at the bottom where the material has frayed away exposing the binding underneath. The back shows creasing in the binding and a few dents around the edges of all the opening sides, especially the bottom left corner where it has begun to fold under. There are several scuffs and smudges on the back, most noticeably a couple together in the lower centre where there a some smudges of a light cream colour. Apologies for the blurred photograph
