Language and culture
Language and Culture: Global Flows and Local Complexity, by Karen Risager, 2006. The book presents a new theory of the relationship between language and culture in a transnational and global perspective. The fundamental view is that languages spread across cultures, and cultures spread across languages, or in other words, that linguistic and cultural practices flow through social networks in the world along partially different paths and across national structures and communities. The book has been visually inspected under strong light and graded Very Good using AbeBooks grading guide, the cover has some light indentations, a couple smudges and some small, occasional creases. There are some minor dents, sticker smudges and minor surface scuffing, more so on the back. The edges are a little worn and scuffed in various places and the corners are slightly creased and dented. The first page has some dotted marks (black) but the rest appear to be in great condition.
