The book contains 36 pages of colour and monochrome illustrations of college buildings, mainly reproductions of 19th century prints but also including contemporary line drawings by the author. The text includes a brief history and description of each college as well as a general history of each university. There is some water damage to the covers which are bowed and marked. Internally there is some foxing to the end papers. There is a written inscription on the first page.
