This major work on the microscope was written by John Thomas Quekett, the English microscopist and histologist who co-founded the Royal Microscopical Society. This is the second edition, illustrated with twelve plates and two hundred and seventy wood engravings. Condition: the covers show some mild discolouration and marking. The head and tail of the spine are mildly chipped and rubbed. The book’s edges display some moderate staining. The interior pages are also affected by some moderate staining and marking in places, but they are generally crisp and clean. The binding is generally strong.
