There are pencil inscriptions to the ffep and foxing and markings to the title page and front few and back pages. Foxing and markings are, however, restricted to page edges in the body of the book, leaving the pages relatively clean and the binding is tight. The dust jacket is in a brodart protective covering, however, there are closed and open tears (see photos) and is price clipped.First published in January 1936, Agents and Patients is novel about that world of journalism, picture-reading and the cinema. The scene of Agents and Patients is is laid \'After the Slump\' and, more picaresque than its predecessors, it moves from London to Paris, and Paris to Berlin; event and characters are as original and diverting as any of Mr Powell\'s earlier books, which put him at once in the front rank of the younger writers at the time of writing.
