Published in 1982 this 1st edition autobiography is in very good condition throughout.  The cover is of black cloth.  There is an inscription in the book by the author.   The jacket is intact other than a little creasing to the top edge.  It has discoloured slightly and there are some pen markings on it.Few voices can have been better known and loved than that of Isobel Baillie, the supreme British oratorio and concert soprano of her time. More recently, she has been active as a teacher and lecturer, and audiences have long been asking for her recollections of her career. Here at last is her story, peopled with many of the great figures of English twentieth-century music, told with unassuming charm and modesty.
