A first edition 1939 copy of the Gloucestershire Shell Guide edited by Anthony West. The book is in fair condition commensurate with its age. It comes with its original off-white dust-jacket printed with a pale purple illustration on the front and back covers; it shows a fair amount of age and wear as shown in the photographs. The book is hardbound in off-white cloth boards with red title text printed on the spine. The front covers fly leaves have been clipped front and back.The book is internally bound with a metal ring-binder which shows some signs of rust but is in good intact condition. The text pages are clear and bright but with some discolouration but are in otherwise good condition and are illustrated with black and white photographs.
