Scarce. Octavo. Original maroon cloth over boards, gilt lettering at front cover and spine, blind stamped borders at covers, ALS and autographed letter laid in. Clarke was a leading advocate of anti-Semitism and served as president of The Britons from its formation in 1919 until his death as an associate of Henry Hamilton Beamish. He wrote several articles on Christianity that have a militant bent. When Beamish became a fugitive and fled England, Clarke became the head of The Britons, and formed with two others a splinter organisation, the Britons Publishing Society. CONDITION: Very good, slightly askew, spine lightly faded, spine ends slight bumped, rubbing to cloth at spine ends and gutters, corners bumped very slightly, pages slightly age toned. Apart from the inscription on front page the pages are clean and bright. See photos. Thank you
