Pázmándi Antal: Works 1960-2004
One of Hungary\'s best known ceramic artists, Pazmandi Antal graduated from the Budapest High School of Fine and Applied Arts in 1961, and then from the Hungarian College of Applied Arts with a Gorka Prize in 1967. Since the mid-1980s, he has been a teacher at the sculpture department of the Hungarian College of Applied Arts, and a guest teacher at the master\'s program. He works in his own studio. Initially, he forms his sculptures from abstract, geometric elements, and then appears with large-scale pop art, mainly figural compositions. From the nineties onwards, works with a postmodern tone, combining a wide range of materials, are created in his workshop. Its building ceramics are characterized by a crowded plastic effect, bright colors, and the accumulation of different style elements (architectural and figural elements, plastic gags). Text in Hungarian and English. pp 209 colour illustrations throughout.
