I See All: World\'s First Picture Encyclopedia (Full Set Of 5 Volumes; 1920s)
A complete 5-volume set of  I See All: The World\'s First Picture Encyclopedia. Edited by Arthur Mee and published by Amalgamated Press, London in the 1920s. Contains c. 100,000 photographs and line drawings arranged in 4 columns with brief descriptive text underneath. In addition, there are 111 full-page colour plates and 38 full-page colour maps. Red cloth covers with gilt lettering and blind stamped decoration to fronts and spines. A substantial collection, over 3000 pp., each volume measures 21cm x 28cm and the whole set weighs over 18kg. Condition is fair to good. The cloth covers are intact but a little scuffed and the spines are very faded. The cloth at the outer edge of the front cover of Vol 2 is coming loose. The book blocks are remarkably clean for their age and the bindings are generally tight, but the front hard covers of volumes 2, 3 and 5 are a little lax. The inner pages are lightly tanned and foxing is confined to the endpapers. A few pages of Vol 5 have small approx. 2cm tears, otherwise pages are intact.
