Chakra, a literary journal published by the Authors\' & Artists\' Association, Madras. This is undated, but has an inscription by one of the editors and contributors, Manjeri S. Isvaran, dated 1957. Born in Tanjore (1910 - 1966), Isvahan was an influential Indian poet, short story writer, critic, and translator who chose to write in English. His works act as a bridge between the Indian literary renaissance and the post - colonial era (post - independence). Isvaran\'s work was highly influenced by the rich Hindu cultural traditions of ritual, legend, local folk-lore, and festival celebrations.
