Portrait of a Spy: The Story of Mata Hari by Temple Thurston
Portrait of a Spy is about the life of Margaretha Geertruida MacLeod a Dutch lady who was convicted of spying for Germany in World War 1, and was executed in France by firing squad. It is believed by many that she was innocent and was executed as the French needed a scapegoat. She was better known by her stage name Mata Hari as a courtesan and exotic dancer. Her story has inspired multiple films about her life. The book is in fair condition, there is tanning to the pages but it is still in a perfectly readable condition. There is wear to the corners of the spine and cover. There are marks on the covers and fading on the spine and edges of the covers. The dust jacket is torn in multiple places and an edge is missing on the back and spine, the edges are well worn and there is discolouration. Please see images for further detail.
