J. M. Stoddart & Co purchased the exclusive authority to publish \'Patience\' in the U.S.A.  Patience was the sixth operatic collaboration of fourteen between Gilbert and Sullivan. It ran for a total of 578 performances, which was seven more than the authors\' earlier work, H.M.S. Pinafore.  Used: Binding intact, pages well kept.  Red \'silk\' cloth over board has faded to pink down spine, stained, dirty along top edge front cover through use. Spine worn at top and bottom.
