Undated but likely to be late 19th century. Ex public library - has label on paste down, and one on front free endpaper but no stamps. The book has \'upwards of 100 wood engravings and a series of coloured plates from authentic scenes in foreign lands.\' Gilded on all of the text block edges.  Decorative boards in red cloth with pictures on front and spine. Worn but visible design. Some wear to front with small red spot of paint. Rubbing and wear to edges especially the spine - there is a split in the cloth there of 4 cm on one side and 2 cm the other side. The corners are bumped.  The binding is a little slack but holding well - there is just a crack in the binding showing the webbing between 2 of the contents pages, but no pages are detached . The pages are mostly clean with only minimal foxing on a few of them.
