This version of Ali Baba is part of The Banbury Cross Series,a collection of 12 volumes of books edited by Grace Rhys and published in London by Dent in the 1890s, illustrated with full page and partial page pen and ink drawings in Art Nouveau style by leading artists of the era. Here the Eastern classic Ali Baba is reworked and presented with H. Granville Fell\'s black and white illustrations. This book shows signs of having been much handled. Green pictorial decoration to front cover is rubbed and faded. Lettering on spine has worn off. All corners and spine are bumped, and boards are rubbed and marked. Stains and marks of wear throughout book, and hinges are cracked, but binding still intact. 4\"x 6\" approx.
