The Black Tower
This moving story reconstructs the historical episode of The Princes in the Tower, Jasper and Edmund Tudor. These children were pawns in the political game of York v. Lancaster, and the story describes how they were pushed from foster parents to sanctuary, and separated from their parents by banishment. Always they were in danger from the evil Duke of Gloucester. It is a captivating and touching story, depicting the courage and fortitude of the two boys pitting their wits against unknown powers in their hopeful search for their much-loved father. Miss Seth-Smith conveys the colour and harshness of the time with great skill, and convinces the reader that this is how it must have been. Original dust jacket is in good condition with minor markings commensurate with shelf wear. The dust jacket and illustrations are drawn by Nancy Sayer. The orange cloth boards are in good condition with tight binding.
