1898 edition of Sir Walter Scott\'s narrative poem The Lady of the Lake, with an introduction by Andrew Lang, illustrations by C E Brock, and cover design by Albert Angus Turbayne. In excellent condition for its age. Dust jacket (protected by plastic film) damaged at bottom back corner and worn at top and bottom of spine - see photo. Green cloth covered hard covers with gilt design on front cover and spine, in excellent condition with no signs of wear. Gilt to all 3 page edges. Free end-papers discoloured, probably from glue for fixed end-papers. Illustrations (without tissue protection) complete. Fore-edge of pages has small ink stain which has bled through to some page margins - see photo of worst affected page xxx. Stain on pages 114 and 115 from marker ribbon - see photo. Mark in margin at bottom of page xxi - see photo. Mark in margin at top of page 4 - similar to mark on xxi. Mark in margin at bottom of pages 129, 130 and 131 - similar to mark on xxi. Page margins slightly  sunned. Otherwise pages clean and free from spotting or foxing.
