Illustrated by Cyrus Cuneo The book shows signs of ageing.  The front cover is slightly bowed forward and there is some wearing away of the paint at the fore edge of the illustration. The spine is worn and bowed forward top and bottom. The back cover has  patchy dark stains.  The top and bottom edges of the pages are blackened, the fore edge less so. The first couple of pages with the illustration at the front of the book are detached on the bottom two thirds of the page. The title page is badly foxed, there is also some light foxing throughout. There are 2 illustrations in the book, one at the front showing German soldiers leaping from their tank and retreating. The other illustration between pages 320 &321, is an aircraft on fire, plunging towards land. \"(2) that interest in in aerial warfare, particularly among boys, has grown to be exceptionally keen, and that an explanatory book, free from technicalities, would be undoubtedly welcome.\" (Author\'s Note)  This children\'s book is somewhat scarce.
