The Guardian, volume the first
Thirteenth volume in the British Classics Series, containing the first volume of The Guardian. The Guardian was a short-lived newspaper published in London from 12 March to 1 October 1713. It was founded by Richard Steele[5] and featured contributions from Joseph Addison, Thomas Tickell, Alexander Pope and Ambrose Philips.Published in 1804, this volume is in good condition for its age, full leather binding, gilt-stamped spine cover partly detached, but binding generally good and tight. Boards are rubbed, particularly to edges. Marbled endpapers. Some foxing, especially to prelims and index. Pages mostly clean and bright, with some a little wavy from possible earlier water damage. 436pp plus index.
