A second edition set of Echard\'s standard work, The History of England.Volume One: \'From the first entrance of Julius Caesar and the Romans to the end of the reign of King James the First. Containing the space of 1678 years.\'Volume Two: \'From the beginning of the reign of King Charles the First, to the restoration of King Charles the Second. Containing the space of above 35 years.\'Volume Three: \'From the restoration of Kings Charles the Second to the Conclusion of the reign of King James the Second and Establishment of King William and Queen Mary. Containing the space of near 29 years.\'All three volumes have bumps and scuffs to the leather boards. Volume one\'s front board is completely detached, and to the rear of this board there is some writing in ink (pictured). The interior remains largely clean with occasional stains and foxing. Volume two is fairly sound with clean pages and boards remaining fixed. The front board of volume three is only just attached and in need of repair. Once again, the pages remain largely clean and the binding sound.
