Not dated; believed to be circa 1890. In good olive green leaf-embossed cloth boards, gilt title field with black titles on front, tipped in black and white illustration of child and elves on font. Front and rear covers loose, frayed corners and spine ends. Age-toned cut edges. The text block is tightly bound, fairly clean, with small foxed marks on some pages; in very good condition.Thirteen stories from Kathleen Lucas who also illustrated this wonderful book with Sixty-five full-page and other Engravings illustrate the stories.Beautifully designed and coloured presentation sticker by John C Tacey of City Road London.
