Very attractive 1859 edition of this famous book, in four volumes.Each Volume has an engraved frontispiece, engraved and printed titles, and very numerous wood-engraved illustrations throughout.Tight binding and clear pages with very occasional spotting. Tanning heavier on inside covers and end papers. Boards are original patterned cloth elaborately blocked in blind, spines with gilt titles and decoration All are lightly rubbed at headbands and corners lightly bruised. The fabric of the base of the spine of Volume One has separated very slightly from the body of the spine, and a small piece is missing. This is not immediately obvious, and could easily be repaired. (See photo) Volume One also has a mark on the front cover. For these reasons we are listing this set as in \"good\" rather than \"very good\" condition.
