Illustrated throughout by the author Adelaide Agnes Maguire 1852 – 1876, who was a noted painter and daughter of Henry Calton Maguire, lithographer to Queen Victoria. Page edges gilded. Back pages of advertisments for other books on lesser quality paper and badly foxed.
