Hardback 1819 Gobelet. Volumes 1-5 & 8 of 8 volume set. Half leather but very badly worn so that underlying card shows on all covers and spines show stitching underneath. Some vestiges of gilt bands and title on spine. Water stains and foxing throughout all volumes. Hinges broken.Gobelet was a family of printer booksellers active in Troyes in the last quarter of 18th century and first quarter of 19th. Antoine Bret (1717- 1792) was an 18th-century French writer and playwright, whose edition of the Moliere’s work was first published in 1778.
