Each volume has a black and white illustrated frontispiece with protective tissue guard and title-page lettering in red and black. There are additional black and white plates and a white silk book ribbon. All titles are printed on India paper. Each measures 10.5cm x 16cm.In good condition. The leather covers are intact and remain supple with little shelf wear with the exception of the spines which are quite worn and faded. The bindings are firm throughout. For books of this age the pages are remarkably free of tanning, foxing, stains and tears.
