The History of Little Goody Two-Shoes Otherwise Called Mrs Margery Two-Shoes, authorship attributed to Oliver Goldsmith, published by George Routledge & Sons, London. Undated but part of the Broadway Booklets series, originally published 1903. There is a dedication in ink on the front endpaper of this volume dated 1908. Originally published in 1765, this became one of the most famous, popular and influential children\'s books of the next 150 years.This particular version is very difficult to source.Blue Morocco Leather semi-hardback with gilt titling to front & spine. There is a tissue guarded black and white print frontispiece and miniature woodcut illustrations on nearly every page. 80 pp. including appendix. This is a pocket sized book 20.5cm x 23.5cm. In very good condition for its age. The covers are scuffed with edge wear to the top and bottom of the spine in particular. The pages are only lightly toned with no foxing except for the tissue guard and final two pages. The binding is firm. The text and illustrations are clear throughout. Other than the dedication there are no other markings.
