The biographies of the painters are based on those of Varasi. This first edition has been made from a family copy formerly in possession of Henry Cavendish (1731-1804) from whom it passed to the Chatsworth Library of the Dukes of Devonshire. Several photographs have been taken showing the condition of this book which is fair to good.
