Originally collected in the 19th Century, this collection of recipes and meal ideas had the main aim of providing a balanced diet, making it unlikely that any of the essential substances would be missed and the danger of monotonous meal planning would be avoided. Contains instructions for preparing meats, vegetables, salad, hot and cold sweets and preserves, along with selected world recipes and a section on table wines. Fully illustrated with colour photographic plates. Turquoise textured paper-covered boards. Black text to spine. Various scuffs, marks and discolouration to boards.
