A picture book by Louis Wain. A very rare copy. Published by Blackie and Son Limited, No date: possibly 1918, inscription dated 1923 on inside front cover. Each page has illustrations in colour. First edition. Original wrappers, sewn not stapled. Front cover has a full-colour picture by Wain to front and a black and white illustration to reverse. Back cover is blank with a black and white drawing by E.A.Cubitt inside. As a well used children\'s book this is very worn with cracks and damage to cover, splitting to spine and pages at head and tail and tears to all pages, some of which have been repaired with small amount of what looks like paper tape. Foxing and some marks to pages. Two inscriptions inside front cover. Fragile condition but very rare.
