William Caxton
A historical biography of William Caxton which is a first edition of 1925. William Caxton (c. 1422 – c. 1491) was an English merchant, diplomat, and writer. He is thought to be the first person to introduce a printing press into England, in 1476, and as a printer was the first English retailer of printed books. Our book has been photographed for you to see including a sample internal page; spine is faded and there is the usual foxing to the end pages and tanning and end bumping to the spine but this is to be expected for a book of this age; nevertheless it is clean throughout and overall fair its age. It is believed from a collectors slip inside that the previous owner bought it for £10 in 1995.
