Part One of a First edition (1864) of this scarce work. Beautifully bound in original ornate blind-tooled green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine with joint Van Voorst and Matchett and Stevenson pre-publication flyer bound into title page. John Henry Gurney (1819-90) entered his family banking business in Norwich after leaving school.
