The Prelude to Bolshevism; The Kornilov Rising
Our book is photographed for you to see. It is in very good condition and is the General Books publication. These books have been reprinted due to their historical importance. Regarding the appointment of General Kornilov as Commander-in- Chief of the South-western front, no Russian can have forgotten the July Days a period of unrest in Petrograd in July 1917. It was characterised by spontaneous armed demonstrations by soldiers, sailors, and industrial workers engaged against the Russian Provisional Government. The demonstrations were angrier and more violent than those during the February Revolution months earlier. The Provisional Government blamed the Bolsheviks for the violence brought about by the July Days and in a subsequent crackdown on the Bolshevik Party, the party was dispersed, many of the leadership arrested.[3] Vladimir Lenin fled to Finland, while Leon Trotsky was among those arrested. As for the author, Alexander Fyodorovich Kerensky (1881–1970), he served as the Prime Minister of the Russian Provisional Government during 1917 Russian Revolution, until Lenin took power shortly after the October Revolution. Kerensky was a progressive lawyer before briefly leading the Provisional Government, and later fled to the United States after the revolution.
