This book written by Sir John  Marriott, a British educationist, historian, and Member of Parliament  recounts the life of Lucius Carey, Viscount Falkland, who was a Royalist leader during  the English Civil War.   Published by Methuen, in 1908, this is the second, preferred edition of this historic text. Book is in very good condition.  Green cloth boards with minor wear and  impressive gilt embossed spine. Spine is firm , a little frayed at the ends.  Bottom edge is rough-cut. 358 pages with numerous illustrations,  maps, &  index.  Tissue guard frontispiece.
