A book of short stories about life in the R.A.F. written by a young pilot, John Llewelyn Rhys, who tragically died in action shortly after the publication of his first short stories. The author had showed great promise and had written highly-praised magazine articles in his youth, but Llewelyn Rhys turned down a place at Oxford University to achieve his pilot\'s licence. But he wrote a number of novels in his spare time, including ‘The Flying Shadow’, before he died in 1940.
