Mystic Voices being the experiences of The Rev Philip Rivers Pater, squire and priest, 1834 - 1913, is quite a rare small blue hardback with gilt lettering to the spine and gilt lettering and decoration to the front board. It is in fair to good condition, with bumping to the top and bottom of spine and corners, the front hinge is cracked, there is a former owner\'s address stamped on the front pastedown with another stamp on ffep and a bookshop stamp on back pastedown. The binding is slightly fragile too. The frontispiece is of the Agape or Symbolic Supper from the fresco in the catacombs of SS Pater and Marcellinus in Rome. Roger Pater is the pen name of Dom Roger Hudleston, a member of the Order of St Benedict.
