The Brothers Grimm collected this German folk story (sometimes called ‘The Bremen Town Musicians’) in the early 1800s. Bremen has a statue of the four resouceful animals. Set in a German forest near Bremen in the 18th century. Purple level titles introduce a variety of topics to promote reading for pleasure and offer plenty of opportunities to look at rhyme and rhythm within words to build fluency and phrasing.
