Born and raised in Southern California, Frances Stark\'s fascination with skateboarding, punk, rap, and L.A. subculture is reflected in her poetic works that explore a wide array of subjects. Stark\'s work highights issues of race, class, and gender with genuine sincerity and joy. For more than two decades, Stark has explored the meaning of language and its translation into the creative process, highlighting experiences of artists and non-artists alike.
