Franc de Bel NV / Chateau de Bel
75cl / 13% - Olivier Cazenave is breaking the mould when it comes to winemaking in Bordeaux, and this is a good example of why. This is a Vin de France because Olivier has created a blend of five vintages of Cabernet Franc in a solera-style system. On the nose is a lot of rich dark fruits and blackberry compote with a touch of liquorice. The palate has smooth ripe tannins and a lovely simplicity of fruit that really delivers.
