70cl / 54.6% / Douglas Laing - A 1980 Caol Ila single malt from indie bottler Douglas Laing, matured in a single refill hogshead for four decades, before being bottled in June 2021 as part of its Xtra Old Particular series. Aromas of sea salt and acrid smoke fill the nose, complemented by notes of leather, malted barley, honey-glazed meat, black pepper, peat smoke, dried orange peel and smouldering bonfire embers throughout the palate.
