This product can help you to feel more comfortable by working quickly to reduce itching and irritation. The pessary comes with an applicator which makes insertion as easy as inserting a tampon, and just one application at night could be all you need to treat your symptoms.nWhat is thrush?nThrush is a common yeast infection caused by a type of yeast called Candida which thrives when there is a disturbance to your natural pH balance. This type of thrush can affect your vagina, penis or mouth. Although thrush is usually harmless, it can be uncomfortable until the infection has been eradicated.nWhat are the symptoms of thrush?nSome of the symptoms of vaginal thrush are:nAn odourless, white, cottage cheese like discharge.nItchingnRednessnIrritationnStinging, burning or discomfort when you urinate.nHow do clotrimazole pessaries work?nClotrimazole is an effective anti-fungal agent which works to kill the fungus responsible for causing thrush.nWhen should this product NOT be used?nDo not use this product if:nThe person is under 16 or over 60 unless advised to do so by a doctor.nYou suffer from irregular vaginal bleedingnYou have blood stained dischargenYou are experiencing lower abdominal painnYou are experiencing pain when urinatingnYou have foul smelling discharge.nIF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING YOU SHOULD SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST BEFORE TAKING THIS PRODUCT.nAre there any side effects?nSome people may experience some of the following side effects:nMild burning or irrtationnSevere itchingnSwellingnRednessnVaginal bleedingnStomach pain.nIf you experience any of the following please contact a medical professional immediately:nAn allergic reaction, e.g swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, throat, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing.nAn intolerable burning sensation or irritation.nHow do I use clotrimazole pessaries?nThe treatment for vaginal thrush is one vaginal tablet (pessary) to be inserted at night.nDo not use this product if you are menstruating, wait until your period has finished.nAlways wash your hands before and after inserting the vaginal tablet.nRemove the applicator from the packaging.nRemove the tablet from the aluminium package and place it firmly into the open end of the disposable applicator.nTo fit the tablet into the applicator, squeeze the applicator lightly on both sides whilst pushing the tablet far enough into the holder (about 1cm) to be held in place during insertion.nWarningsnThis product may cause damage to latex contraceptives and therefore reduce their effectiveness. Use alternative contraception for at least 5 days after using this product.nThis product is not for oral use.nDo not use tampons, douches or other vaginal products while using clotrimazole.nKeep out of reach of children.nWith all medications please read the product information leaflet before use.
