Commonly known as an IDC or Impact Tool, the LINDY Professional IDC Punchdown Tool can be used for terminating most UTP and STP data and telecom cables used in patch panels, data modules, line jack units and junction boxes. Unlike cheaper throwaway plastic pushdown tools, after terminating the cable this tool automatically trims away the excess wire for a much neater and professional finish. It includes a useful Hook & Unlock Blade for removing IDC blocks and stray wires from their frame mounts. An insertion catch also ensures the conductor is fully inserted and spliced into the IDC block before the automatic press-plier scissors snip off the excess wire.
