High Tea
Ever wondered what high tea was? Well firstly to clear things up, it\'s not when you drink tea while being elevated high up in the sky. Rather, it was a meal including a mug of tea, bread, vegetables, cheese and occasionally meat. In the early 19th century it would be eaten in the afternoon as a necessity while people waited to eat later on in the evening. Some believe it is called high tea because it is eaten at the dinner table, as opposed to Afternoon Tea which is generally eaten in a more relaxed environment on comfortable chairs or sofas. If this sounds like something you\'d enjoy, then this unique tea cup and saucer set would be right up your street. Taking hints from the real and literal meaning, the cup has a fairly lengthy stem stretching from the bottom of it meaning it sits high up of the table. Resting nicely on the saucer, the height of the cup means you can fit an array of delicious sweet treats beneath it. A quirky and innovative way to lay the table next time you\'re feeling all traditionally vintage. Material: High quality ceramicVolume: 170mlCare instructions: Not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use
