Experience excavating or mining your own amethyst gem and learn about all the stone’s mythical and magical properties of the Shamans. Located about 120km away from Rovaniemi city, Lampivaara is also within the Arctic Circle and has its own unique scenery with its primitive virgin forest. You will get onto the top of Lampivaara to enter the Amethyst mine. The view from the mine are breath taking. Expect to hear real stories such as history, legends of the crystal and the ancient mountain from the Amethyst mine tour. On the way back to Rovaniemi we will stop by in the traditional hut and grill some sausages around the fire surrounded by the beautiful scenery surrounding Pyhä-Luosto national park.
