Climates vary from sub-tropical in the south to temperate in the interiors to the highlands in the north making it ideal to grow different varieties of crops. Import of fruits and vegetables especially from India are banned (due to the high concentration of chemical fertilizers) and the focus for Bhutan is to be self sufficient and grow our own crops.
