The top of the guard opens for refilling the feeder. This guard will prevent access to cats and large birds such as pigeons and Pheasants whilst allowing smaller garden birds to feed, this large mesh version will also let in blackbirds.  Large - mesh hole size 6cm x 6.5cm.
