Venerable artists at Versace have composed a magical garden in delicate pastel shades with a lavish melange of blossoms, fruits, butterflies and adornments to playfully symbolise a summer symphony. Inspired by Greek mythology, the shape of the porcelain is named Ikarus and some pieces incorporate opulent golden wings. With this décor the colours are melted into the glaze at 1000 degrees C. Here the glaze softens and the pattern sinks into it, thus making colour and luminosity indestructible. The porcelain is scratch and wear resistant. However, the gold décor is not totally scratch resistant by virtue of its natural material properties. This range was tested by the Rosenthal Institute for material technology.
